Soil quality is the cornerstone of Regenerative Agriculture (RA).  RA principles and practices solidly support the creation of healthy soil, a living ecosystem.  This system, the "soil food web" is comprised of billions of bacteria, fungi, nematodes, protozoa, arthropods, plants organic matter, animals and birds, working in a symbiotic relationship.  The key functions of a strong soil ecosystem include: 1) absorbing and storing rainwater; 2) sustaining plant and animal life; 3) filtering and buffering pollutants; 4) providing nutrients for plants; and 5) providing a medium for plant roots for stability and support.

"The soil is the great connector of our lives, the source and destination of all."  Wendell Berry
